Any man who is contemplating becoming a pastor must seriously examine himself to determine if he is qualified to be a pastor or an elder. Failure to do so will bring God’s disapproval since the man is not qualified.

The elder is mentioned in encontrarse 5 and in encontrarse 7 the name of the elder is changed to overseer. That is, these two words refer to the same person.

Many Christians believe the pastor should be an administrator for the church. They fail to realize that God did not give every pastor the spiritual gift of administration.
